Behold, I stand at the door and knock,

If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,

I will come into him and dine with him,

And him with me.

My Art in 2024

On retiring from work at the end of 2023 I now had time to fulfill my pursuits. In 1994 | attended the Ruth Winston Community Centre in Palmers Green, Enfield Town. I joined their free style art class for £16 per month. In this class there is no instructor, but some art material is provided, otherwise you bring your own art materials and enjoy yourself.

Watercolour flower

I find that different watercolour subjects require different watercolour techniques to be effective. I often see watercolour landscape artist, who are very good at what they do, struggle to paint flowers or portraits. They may have a limited paint pallet and can only use the techniques they know on landscape painting. I have tried to master different techniques depending on the subject. With flowers, I try to use pure colours, rather than miixing colours,  because they are more vibrant and make the flower more beautiful. Because of this a wide range of colours is used.

The Art Class

During my 2 hour Wednesday art class I practiced painting flowers on A5 size watercolour paper. I used the Watercolour Flower artist's bible, as a reference. I had used this book before but this time I experimented with different backgrounds.

Animals

The Rhino

This is my favourite animal. I once saw one, sparkling all over, in a dream and it was protecting me.

The Meercat

Such an inquisitive animal, always looking out for danger and protecting its companions.

The Koala

A lovable animal. It is docile and friendly. It sleep for over 20 hours per day and does not seem to have any defence against predators. So how has it survived extinction. It has one secret weapon. It lives on and feed on trees that are poisonous. Nature at its best.
